Procurement excellence at online bank

The client, a leading online bank in the Nordics, bought out from the Stockholm stock exchange by a Nordic PE-firm, needed external support to drastically cut cost and improve scalability

OPX Partners was asked to develop a procurement framework and drive selected purchasing initiatives. The new owners had highly ambitious plans for the company, targeting 5X profit after four years, and needed to utilize multiple levers to achieve their goal. During a 16 week engagement, OPX Partners supported the client to:

  • Develop new purchasing processes, policies and a blue-print for a category management organization

  • Hire a Head of Purchasing, including defining key activities for first year

  • Drive selected category initiatives, including: IT consultants, IT hardware, Temp labor, Fund kick-backs (top-line cost) and IT systems

Upon completing the project, OPX Partners had achieved savings of 10-25% in the targeted category initiatives as well as drastically improved scalability (relative customer intake) in key IT contracts.
